I was born in 1992 in Brisbane, Australia where I grew up and have spent the majority of my life. I graduated from the Queensland University of Technology in 2014 with a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering and I was lucky enough to find an engineering job in my hometown where I remain to this day writing technical reports.

I have always had a strong passion for writing. I find writing to be an extremely creative, engaging and simple hobby that can also be as intense or relaxing as you wish it to be. I started writing as a hobby in high school when I created a blog to write about video games. Since then I have been writing on and off over the years whenever I found the time. I predominantly enjoy writing short stories and opinion pieces on video games, however I have also always enjoyed writing reviews for video games whenever I get the chance.

A few years ago I set myself the goal of writing and self-publishing my first book. In early 2015 I achieved that goal and have since supplemented the time previously allocated to working on my book to now writing more video game reviews.

I draw inspiration from a wide range of sources, but I have a few particular influences that I admire for various reasons. I grew up reading Hyper magazine and have always found the style and humour of their numerous writers (particularly Elliot Fish) over the years to be one of my biggest influences, especially when it comes to critiquing video games. Giant Bomb, one of my long-time favourite sources for video game news and information, has always been a great resource and I find the review style of writer Dan Ryckert to be fantastically concise.

When it comes to story-telling, I have always been fascinated with Stephen King’s unique style, as well as Robert Jordan’s ability to paint a word-picture. Of course, to myself and to almost every aspiring writer out there, the works of Tolkein and his ability to create such a vivid, realised world is truly inspiring.

In early 2015 I began writing for Kultureshocked.com. I have written many videogame reviews and a number of articles for the site that can be found via the links at the top of this page.

I enjoy writing and wish to continue to develop my skills as a writer with aspirations to someday transform this hobby that has captivated me for many years, into a career.
